This is a well-researched and beautifully illustrated story Bible, indeed, one of the best you can find. It is based on the New Revised Standard Version Bible. As far as story Bibles go, its selections are minimally abridged. Most of exciting about this text, though, are its illustrations. In 1992, Patricia Dooley, University of Seattle Washington raved thus:
“The copious illustrations, full-page and vignettes, are detailed, realistic, attractive (without overwhelming the text) and in lively color. Close examination reveals further virtues. First, there is an individual style to the art that distinguishes it from the run-of-the-mill. Second, the artist's solid research is unobtrusively but impressively evident in the careful depiction of clothing, ancient Middle Eastern physiognomy, and a wealth of household and ceremonial objects. This is a 270 page hard cover book in excellent condition. Its cover shows a bit of rubbing around the edges, but the pages bear no writing or markings of any kind.
